FAID has been steadfastly serving deaf community in Lebanon and the Middle East since 1957.
This year we have launched several projects and workshops, one of the most important is creation of job opportunities for the deaf. We have employed number of deaf former students, where they will work as teachers of the deaf at FAID, technicians of the manufacture of earmold for the hearing aids.
With the collaboration of the UNHCR we will rehabilitate our garden in order to be transformed into “Sensory garden” A sensory garden is an environment garden that is designed with the purpose of stimulating the senses. This stimulation occurs courtesy of plants and the use of materials that engage one’s senses of sight, smell, touch, taste, and sound. These types of gardens are beneficial to both children and adults, especially those who have disabilities.
